Our engaging and dynamic children's ministry is where your kiddos not only find authentic community and have a lot of fun, but become deeply marked by the presence of God. Led by Oakland Kids Director Noah Ford, Oakland Kids ranges from birth through 6th grade.

Introduce Jesus Christ
We present the hope & life of Jesus Christ, so that each child knows that God loves them and has an awesome plan for their life

Empower Families
We resource and equip the child’s primary teacher—the family—to reinforce a Kingdom culture in their homes

Have Fun
We play hard, with summer splashing, outdoor adventures, new friendships, movie watching, and more
Parents
When you arrive to church for a Sunday morning service or Wednesday evening programming, our team is available in all main lobbies to register your child. Trust us, Mom and Dad, we’ll help you get everything covered. You can even sign up to receive a special e-newsletter to keep up-to-date with all the happenings in Oakland Kids.
During the service, kids remain with the family for worship & announcements, and then will be dismissed to Oakland Kids—where they will have the time of their lives! (Our staffed nursery, though, is available the entire service.)
Safety
Children and parents receive matching printed nametags and pick-up tags to ensure their safety in our environments. The child’s nametag identifies their age group, any allergies, and a security code that matches the parent pick-up tag. At the end of the service, each parent picking up a child must provide the pick-up tag to the our volunteers. A member of the Oakland Kids team will ensure the security codes match on both the child’s nametag and parent pick-up tag.
All volunteers are cleared through a background check via the State of Pennsylvania, and no volunteer serves alone.
Nursery & Preschool
Infants, toddlers, & preschoolers are welcomed in an engaging and fun experience. Kids will learn how much God loves them, what a special creation they are, and how Jesus wants to be their best friend forever!
Elementary
Elementary-age children experience God through worship, games, and interactive lessons that are relevant in their day-to-day lives and help apply God’s Word when navigating situations at school, home, and in their friendships.
"Crossroads," 5th & 6th Grade
5th & 6th graders are encouraged to remain with the family during Sunday morning services, but Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm we have a small group just for them! They’ll be challenged and inspired to ‘own’ their faith, all while sharing lots of laughs, building friendships that will last a lifetime, and playing games along the way. Crossroads does not meet during June, July, and August.
