What to Expect

We know that showing up to a new place for the first time can be intimidating, but it’s our heart that you feel right at home from the moment you pull into the parking lot.

Friendly, casual volunteers are positioned at every doorway to guide you where you need to go and help you every step of the way. We even have an exclusive present waiting for you—just let one of our team know that it’s your first time!

Sunday at 8:30am

Located in the Main Sanctuary

Our 8:30 services have a more traditional feel, and usually include our Oakland Choir and a handful of beloved hymns led by Oakland Worship, sometimes accompanied by organ. Oakland Kids is available for your kiddos, birth through 4th grade. The message is the same as the other weekend services.

Sunday at 11:00am

Located in the OMC (Gym)

Our 11:00 services are more relaxed & modern, with songs led by Oakland Worship in a full band of guitars, keys, and drums. Oakland Kids is available for your kiddos, birth through 4th grade. The message is the same as the other weekend services.

Regarding Health & Safety

If you are joining us in-person, we can’t wait to see you! We want you to know that you and your family’s safety is a priority for us. In order to keep people as safe as possible, here is what you can expect when you arrive.

Arrival to Church

We ask that everyone aged 6 and older wear a mask or face covering during your time at Oakland. When you walk into the building, a volunteer will record your name and phone number in the event that we need to contact you later for health reasons. It is not necessary to register in advance. We ask that households and carloads sit together; if directed, please wait for one of our ushers to seat you and those with you.

Physical Distancing

We ask that you and those with you respect physical distancing of at least 6 feet during your visit.

Frequent Disinfecting

Our team is constantly wiping down surfaces and carefully sanitizing all used facilities before all services. It would help us tremendously if you wash your hands as needed.

We do advise, if you are considered high-risk under CDC guidelines, or if you are feeling under the weather, that you would not attend the live services but plan to worship with our live stream at OaklandOnline.org. While these precautions do not eliminate all potential risk, as a church, we want to do everything possible to keep you and your family safe.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. As always, we pray God’s enormous blessings of abundance, health, and prosperity over you and yours!

How should I dress?

There is no dress code! Come the way you wake up, for all we care! Some people show up in suits, and others wear ripped jeans and t-shirts. We want you to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, so that you are ready to receive.

What about my kids?

We have yet to meet a kid who doesn’t love Oakland Kids! Our children’s ministry is available at all weekend services, and is for kids birth through 4th grade. You can easily register your kiddo at any main entrance, and they will be dismissed from the main service shortly after the music. We would be so excited to give you a tour of our children’s facilities—just head downstairs to our kid’s wing and ask for Noah Ford, our Oakland Kids Director.

Should I bring anything with me?

Some people come with a Bible or have a Bible app handy, and a notebook for taking notes if they wish. Many just show up, though, so don’t feel like you need to bring anything.

We can’t wait to see you in church this weekend!
