Oakland Church is a large, growing church in Johnstown, PA, with a vibrant history of more than 100 years—yet we remain more committed than ever to make passionate and compassionate followers of Jesus Christ. It doesn't matter if you come from a church background or if you forgot where you left your Bible years ago... you are welcome here!
What to Expect This Weekend
What does a service look like?
When you arrive, some friendly volunteers will point you in the right direction and answer any questions you may have. The service will last about 75 minutes and includes a message from the Bible, passionate live worship music, and an opportunity for prayer.
What about the 8:30am service?
The early service has more traditional elements. This coming weekend will probably include a few beloved hymns accompanied by piano or organ.
What about the 11am service?
The late service has more modern elements. This coming weekend will probably include vibrant worship by a full band.
Your little ones will love Oakland Kids (from birth to 4th Grade), our dynamic & safe children's ministry with exciting music, games & prizes, and an age-appropriate lesson from the Bible! We suggest arriving a bit early to church—5-10 minutes is plenty of time!—to register your kids. Then, kids stay with the family during the main service until they are dismissed after worship.
What should I wear?
Here at Oakland, people wear anything from "business casual" to a T-shirt & jeans—but it's not what you're wearing that matters, so come as you are and experience what God has for you in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

We passionately engage in local and global outreach. (Acts 1:8)
We commit to needs-oriented ministry to all. (James 1:27, James 2:15-16)

What We Believe
Oakland Church is all about Jesus. He is the cornerstone of all that we stand for and everything we do. We enthusiastically affirm the tenets of the Nicene Creed, as have countless other churches and streams since AD 381.
